UB RIA Studies Receive NIH Grants Totaling $7.3 Million

Three new studies by the University at Buffalo’s Research Institute on Addictions (RIA) were selected to receive $7.3 million in grants from the National Institutes of Health. The studies will focus on the impact of maternal substance use during pregnancy on children’s development from birth to kindergarten age, work stress and alcohol use, and the role of acute alcohol consumption on relationship conflict and violence among young couples who are married or living together.
