Through our first-year colloquia and orientation courses, you'll learn how to effectively utilize UB's extensive resources. During your first weeks on campus, you'll be able to apply what you learn to your studies as you build a roadmap to your academic goals.
Discovery Seminars
UB's discovery seminars offer the opportunity to engage with a distinguished faculty member and other students around a thought provoking topic. In a small group setting, you'll be exposed in a meaningful way to the academic challenges and rewards of attending a major research university, all the while improving your skills in critical thinking and in oral and written expression.
